Upper School Students Shine in National Film Festival Competition

Students split up into teams and had four days to write, shoot, and edit a horror movie incorporating required elements.
St. Margaret’s film students won first place at the All American High School Film Festival Winter Film Invitational “Holiday Horror” competition in December.

Students split up into teams and had four days to write, shoot, and edit a horror movie incorporating required elements including a snow globe, a line of dialogue (“Is it getting hot in here?”) and the sound effect of a crackling fire. Two teams from St. Margaret's competed against 26 schools from all over the country.

First place went to Cathryn Giusto, Kate Lee, and Winston Verdult for their film Sugar & Spice about a little girl who eats Santa’s cookies on Christmas Eve and ends up paying horribly for her snack.

Emma Evanson, Charlotte Quintanar, and Max Page ranked as finalists in the top 10 overall for their film Frosty the Snow Demon about a brother and sister who are visited one winter evening by an ominous snowman.

Congratulations to our filmmakers!
