St. Margaret's Student-Athletes Commit to Top Colleges During Fall Signing Period

Eleven student-athletes from the Class of 2022 will continue their academic and athletic careers at a range of prestigious colleges and universities.
St. Margaret's Episcopal School is pleased to announce that 11 student-athletes from the Class of 2022 have committed to play intercollegiate athletics next year during the fall national signing period. Seniors Hayden Chester, Riley Chester, Sebastien Chicas, Seth Forstot, Matt Groeninger, Jack Hanna, Grace Karstetter, Caroline Sele, Will Stahl, Celeste Taylor and Makai Todd will continue their academic pursuits, as well as play their respective sport, at an impressive group of colleges and universities.
 
Hayden Chester, Monmouth University
Hayden Chester has committed to study and play lacrosse at NCAA Division-I Monmouth University in West Long Branch, N.J.
 
Hayden is a member of the Tartans' 2019 U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section Championship team and an experienced long pole midfielder for St. Margaret's. Hayden has participated in the World Series of Youth Lacrosse and was named a Pacific West Nike All-Star in lacrosse.
 
Hayden volunteers his time with the Sarah and Payton Chester Foundation, supporting underserved children in Orange County.
 
Hayden plans to major in business at Monmouth.
 
Riley Chester, Monmouth University
Riley Chester has committed to study and play lacrosse at NCAA Division-I Monmouth University in West Long Branch, N.J.
 
Riley, a member of St. Margaret's 2019 U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section Championship team, is a mainstay at midfield for the Tartans. Riley was also a member of the West Regional squad at the World Series of Youth Lacrosse.
 
Riley volunteers his time with the Sarah and Payton Chester Foundation, supporting underserved children in Orange County.
 
Riley plans to major in business at Monmouth.
 
Sebastien Chicas, Virginia Military Institute
Sebastien Chicas, a four-year varsity lacrosse team member at St. Margaret's, has committed to study and play lacrosse at NCAA Division-I Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va.
 
Sebastien, a member of the Tartans' 2019 U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section Championship team, was named U.S. Lacrosse Player of the Week in 2021 and serves as the Tartans' starting goaltender. Sebastien is also a two-year starter at running back for St. Margaret's football program.
 
Sebastien has participated in the World Series of Youth Lacrosse at the club lacrosse level and is a member of the Class of 2022 National Championship squad.
 
Academically, Sebastien is an Honor Roll recipient and a three-time Head of School Honor recipient.
 
Sebastien volunteers his time at Del Obispo Elementary School.
 
Sebastien intends to study Civil Engineering at VMI.
 
Seth Forstot, Rhodes College
Seth Forstot has committed to study and play lacrosse at NCAA Division-III Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn.
 
Seth, a member of the Tartans' 2019 U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section Championship team, was also selected as a 2021 Under Armour All American, 2021 Adrenaline Champion, 2020 Adrenaline Gold Cup and 2020 Club Lacrosse National Team invitee.
 
Seth intends on majoring in business with a concentration in finance & statistics and entrepreneurship.
 
Matt Groeninger, Bryant University
Matt Groeninger has committed to study and play lacrosse at NCAA Division-I Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I.
 
Matt, a 2021 U.S. Lacrosse All-American and All-CIF Southern Section Div. I awardee is a member of St. Margaret's 2019 U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section Championship team. Matt is also a two-time All-League (2021, 2020) and All-League Honorable Mention (2019) player for the 2019 CIF Finalist Tartan soccer program. Matt will join his brother, Kevin Groeninger '19, on the Bulldogs’ lacrosse squad.
 
Academically, Matt is a Head of School Honors recipient and intends to major in finance at Bryant.
 
Jack Hanna, United States Military Academy
Jack Hanna has committed to study and play tennis at The United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.
 
Jack, a four-year varsity member of the St. Margaret's tennis program, is a 2019 CIF-SS Postseason qualifier and First Team Western Athletic Conference selection. Jack was also a 2019 and 2018 All-League selection.
 
Jack volunteers his time with Operation Help a Hero, Coto for the Cure and has played in numerous charity fundraiser tennis tournaments.
 
Grace Karstetter, Johns Hopkins University
Grace Karstetter has committed to study and play lacrosse at NCAA Division-I Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
 
Grace, a member of the Tartans' 2019 U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section Championship team, was named All-CIF in 2021 and Second-Team All Orange County in 2019. Grace is also a 2022 Adrenaline All-American, a 2021 USA Lacrosse All-American, an Under Armour All-Star in 2021 and 2020, and an Under Armour Command West selection in 2019 and 2018.
 
Grace volunteers her time at Laura's House supporting victims of domestic violence.
 
Grace is an Honor Roll and Head of School Honor's recipient and intends on majoring in Pre-Med at Johns Hopkins.
 
Caroline Sele, Clemson University
Caroline Sele has committed to study and play volleyball at NCAA Division-I Clemson University in Clemson, S.C.
 
Caroline, a four-year member and three-year varsity starter on St. Margaret's volleyball team, also served as the team's co-captain in 2021. Caroline played for T-Street and A4 volleyball clubs at the club level and was a member of the A4 2021 medalist squad.
 
Caroline has volunteered her time from the age of 12 at youth farms and outdoor camps in the state of Washington.
 
Caroline is a Head of School Honors recipient and intends on majoring in computer science at Clemson.
 
Will Stahl, College of the Holy Cross
Will Stahl has committed to study and play lacrosse at NCAA Division-I The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.
 
Will, a captain on St. Margaret's lacrosse and football teams, was named First-Team All CIF in lacrosse in 2021. Will was also a member of the Tartans' 2019 U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section Championship team and has played at the club level for West Coast Starz and was a Nike National All-Star selection.
 
Celeste Taylor, The University of Chicago
Celeste Taylor has committed to study and pole vault for the track & field program at NCAA Division-III The University of Chicago in Chicago.
 
Celeste, an accomplished vaulter for the Tartans, was CIF-SS qualifier, finishing second place in 2021 and fifth place in 2019.
 
Celeste is a Head of School Honors recipient and AP Scholar and intends on majoring in chemistry at Chicago.
 
Makai Todd, Drexel University
Makai Todd has committed to study and play lacrosse at NCAA Division-I Drexel University in Philadelphia.
 
Makai, a four-year member of the Tartan varsity lacrosse team, helped St. Margaret's to a U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section title in 2019. Makai, also a member of St. Margaret's football program, currently leads the team in tackles with 87 as of Nov. 5. At the club level, Makai is a lacrosse National All-Star selection in 2021 and 2020, a member of the Mad Dog National Lacrosse Team and has participated in the World Series of Youth Lacrosse.
 
Makai volunteers in his free time with OC Global Outreach, a youth group on the Kiva Microlending platform, connecting the worldwide underserved and unbanked with capital to improve their lives.
 
A Head of School Honors recipient, Makai plans on majoring in business at Drexel.
