Tartan Tennis Downs Cougars 11-7 in Second-Round of CIF-SS Postseason
St. Margaret's will face Sunny Hills in the Quarterfinals on Nov. 8.
The St. Margaret’s girls tennis team picked up a solid playoff win, defeating Capistrano Valley High School 11-7 on the Cougars’ home court Friday, Nov. 5. The victory propels the Tartans to the quarterfinals to be played on Monday, Nov. 8.
St. Margaret's singles Audrey Harrington and Angela Liu swept their three sets while Rori Ghahreman and Annabel Thiel won the clinching set in doubles play.
"It was a very exciting team win for us on Friday. CVHS was a strong team, but we were able to come through, winning some big points in key moments," said head coach Scott Lipsky. "The quarterfinal round should be a fun one. Sunny Hills has a strong team, but so do we, and we are looking forward to the challenge set in front of us."
The Tartans take on Sunny Hills High School at Saddleback College in the quarterfinals of the CIF-SS Div. III Playoffs on Monday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m.
