Tartan Football Defeats Hueneme 48-6, Advances to Second Round of CIF Playoffs

St. Margaret's relied on both sides of the ball in the win Friday.
St. Margaret's football program downed visiting Hueneme High School 48-6 in first-round CIF-SS Div. IX Playoff action on Nov. 5. The Tartans will next face San Dimas High School in the second round.
 
Quarterback Jack Ruff threw for 255 yards completing 14 of 20 passes with seven touchdowns. Sebastien Chicas shouldered the load in the backfield, rushing for 58 yards on five attempts. Receivers Will Stahl (6 catches, 117 yds, 2 TD), Derek Smith (3 catches, 54 yds, 2 TD), Makai Todd (2 catches, 26 yds, 2 TD) and Sam Dunnell (1 catch, 5 yds, 1 TD) kept the Viking secondary busy all evening.
 
Defensively, the Tartans were led by Makai Todd's team-high 13 tackles and one sack. Sean Olvera-Harle (5 tackles, 1 sack) and Sebastien Chicas (8 tackles) kept Hueneme's attack in check, while Riley Chester contributed six tackles and a fumble recovery.
 
Kicker Sean Olvera-Harle was perfect on PATs, going six for six in the win.
 
St. Margaret's will look to extend its postseason success this Friday, Nov. 12, taking on San Dimas High on the road. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
