Tartan Tennis Wins CIF-SS Postseason First Round Matchup
St. Margaret's Downed Oxford 10-8 on Wednesday.
St. Margaret's girls tennis program advanced to the second round of the CIF-SS Div. III playoffs, defeating Oxford 10-8 at Saddleback College on Nov. 3.
The Tartan doubles team of Grace Nolet and Greta Wagner was terrific all afternoon, winning the clinching set for St. Margaret's. Audrey Harrington was unbeatable, winning all three of her singles sets, while Angela Liu and Kate Purpura won two out of three of their respective singles sets.
"It was a hard-fought match. Our singles efforts were solid, but our doubles teams came through with some clutch set wins," said head coach Scott Lipsky. "It should be a fun match on Friday against a strong Capistrano Valley team."
The Tartans will face Capistrano Valley High School in the second round on Friday, Nov. 5, at Capistrano Valley's home court.
