Tartan Football Ends Regular Season With 49-14 Road Win

St. Margarets traveled to Temecula on Thursday evening and defeated Rancho Christian.
St. Margaret's football program improved to 6-4 with a 49-19 win against Rancho Christian on the road Thursday evening.
 
The Tartans received another stellar effort from their defensive unit, holding the Eagles scoreless until late in the third quarter. St. Margaret's was bolstered by Bobby Springer's eight tackles, followed closely by Battle Gideons (7 tackles) and Kai Todd (6 tackles). Sam Dunnell added an interception while Trey Kingsley and Brandon Miller disrupted the Eagle's backfield all game, combining for a sack.
 
The Tartans were led on the offensive side of the ball by quarterback Jack Ruff's 291 yards passing with five touchdowns and 16 yards rushing with one touchdown.  Running back Benton Barlow rushed for 102 yards on 15 attempts and one touchdown.  St. Margaret's wideouts were effective all evening; Derek Smith (92 yds on 4 catches, 1 TD), Makai Todd (82 yds on 4 catches, 1 TD), Will Stahl (77 yds on 6 catches, 1 TD), Sam Dunnell (23 yds on 1 catch, 1 TD) and Benton Barlow (13 yds on 1 catch, 1 TD) kept the Tartans rolling. Placekicker Sean Olvera-Harle was 7-7 on PAT's.
 
St. Margaret's awaits its placement in the first round of the CIF-SS Postseason. Brackets will be released on Sunday, Oct. 31.
