The Parochial Athletic League resumed play for the first time interscholastic contests paused 18 months ago.
St. Margaret’s Middle School student-athletes made their long-awaited return to athletic competition this week, as the Parochial Athletic League resumed play for the first time since the pandemic halted interscholastic contests 18 months ago.
The joy was evident as flag football, girls volleyball and cross country teams all had activities this week. Chalmers Field, Campaigne Center and nearby Cook’s Park were alive with student-athletes competing and their loyal supporters cheering them on.
“It is so wonderful for our students to be back competing in the Parochial Athletic League,” Middle School athletic director Lori Fava said. “Sports is a great way to promote integrity, leadership and student health and wellness, and we are excited that competition is back for our Middle School student-athletes. It’s been a long time coming!”
