Tartan Cross-Country Programs Ranked in Top 10 in Preseason Rankings

St. Margaret's boys clock in at No. 1 while the girls sit at No. 3
St. Margaret's cross country programs were recently previewed by milesplit.com, granting an early look at the CIF Div. V field. While last year's shortened season was a challenge for many programs, the Tartans appear poised to deliver big results this fall. With the 2021 season getting underway Thursday, Sept. 2, the boys program currently sits at No. 1 while the girls team is ranked No. 3 in the CIF Div. V rankings. Notably, the Tartans join national powerhouses Newbury Park and Great Oak with both gender teams ranked in the top three in their respective divisions.

On the girls side, junior Liesel Blau is noted as the Tartans' top returner by milesplit.com. Blau is determined to build on her 2019 All-State campaign and return St. Margaret's to the state championships in 2021.

Sophomore Everett Capelle and junior Kevin Shen look to lead the Tartan boys back to a state meet invitation and hope to repeat the successes of the 2019 season.
