Bob Yoder Named Head Boys and Girls Volleyball Coach at St. Margaret's

Update: Coach Yoder has assumed the role of head coach of the Tartan girls volleyball program alongside his duties as head coach of the boys program.
St. Margaret's Episcopal School is pleased to announce today's appointment of Bob Yoder as head coach of the Tartan girls volleyball program. With this appointment, Yoder will assume head coach responsibilities for both the girls and boys volleyball programs.
 
Yoder has recently served as head coach of the Laguna Beach Volleyball Club U16 Girls Gold Medal and U18 Girls Bronze Medal-winning teams and of the 949 Volleyball Club U18 Jr. Olympic Gold Medal team. Yoder has also volunteered as an assistant coach at Concordia University, Irvine.
 
Yoder, an accomplished volleyball player and coach, led the University of Southern California mens volleyball program to the 1988 NCAA National Championship and three runner-up finishes during his tenure as head coach. Yoder also coached and developed four Olympic Team members and an additional six USA National Team members and was named National Collegiate Coach of the Year in 1986. Prior to his stint at USC, Yoder was the head mens volleyball coach at The Ohio State University, guiding the Buckeyes to two NCAA Final Four appearances, finishing third in 1980 and fourth in 1981.
 
As a player at USC, Yoder was a Collegiate Volleyball All-American in 1977, 1978 and 1979 and a member of the Trojans' 1977 NCAA National Championship team. In 1978, Yoder was named the Jess Hill Trojan Heritage Trophy and USC Outstanding Senior Student-Athlete award winner. Yoder is a member of the USC Athletic Hall of Fame, class of 2015.
