Tartan Baseball Punches Postseason Ticket With Win Over Sage Hill
St. Margaret's downed the Lightning 12-2 on Tuesday.
St. Margaret's baseball program advanced to the CIF-SS playoffs with a 12-2 win over Sage Hill on Tuesday afternoon. The win places the Tartans in second place in the competitive San Joaquin League behind league leader Capistrano Valley Christian Schools.
Junior Hunter Smith had a day for the Tartans, reaching base four times and scoring three runs to put St. Margaret's ahead. Senior Trey Pate had two hits, while freshman catcher Els Page went three for three, with one hit by pitch and three runs scored. Pitchers Shane Olvera-Harle and Andrew Golubow combined for the win on the mound.
The Tartans will look to cap the season against Sage Hill on Thursday, May 28, before the CIF-SS postseason begins on Tuesday, June 1.
