St. Margaret's girls soccer won 2-0 Wednesday evening.
Behind Julia Olosky’s two goals, the Tartans defeated Sage Hill, 2-0, to capture the San Joaquin League title Wednesday evening on Tartan Field.
A defensive battle, both teams played a defensively conservative game, bringing a nil-nil tie into halftime. The Tartans remained patient before Olosky broke the game open with eight minutes left to play to give the Tartans a 1-0 lead. She followed up with another goal to seal it for the Tartans with under a minute left in the game. Goalkeeper Ava Lentz recorded her second straight shutout with four saves in the win.
"Last night's win was an incredible team win," said head coach Jennifer Anderson-Hammond. "We were really pleased with the camaraderie, work ethic and energy level the girls brought to match. This is a great step for the team to take as we gear up for CIF postseason play."
The Tartans will return to the pitch on April 26 for an away match at The Webb Schools.
