Tartan Boys Soccer Downs Samueli 6-1 at Home

The win secures a playoff spot for the Tartans.
St. Margaret's boys soccer program defeated visiting Samueli Academy 6-1 on Tartan Field Monday evening for a much-needed league win. The Tartans relied on disciplined defensive play with Trey Milo, Shane Olvera-Harle, and Josh Kim leading from the back line.
 
St. Margaret's also received great midfield play from Hayden Mann, Marcello Cruz-Sanchez and Alex Fournier, which kept the pressure on Samueli all afternoon. Matt Groeninger and Hugh Eaton kept the pace for the Tartans, creating chances and pressing the Firewolves at every opportunity. Eric Nghiem and Nathanial Kim produced quality minutes and showed tremendous grit making countless box-to-box runs.
 
With the win, the Tartans are guaranteed a top-three league finish and a playoff spot. St. Margaret's will next face Sage Hill School on the road on April 14 at 5:15 p.m.
