Tartans Return to Play on Tartan Field in Draw With Orange Lutheran

Girls soccer played to a 0-0 tie in the first game on Tartan Field in more than a year.
An exciting girls soccer match this past Friday under the lights against Trinity League opponent Orange Lutheran marked the first time in more than a year that an athletic contest ran on Tartan Field. A herculean effort, which included COVID-19 testing protocols by both programs, resulted in a fast-paced and well-played match.

The Tartans were boosted by a small contingent of socially-distanced (and food costume clad) senior class members, cheering St. Margaret's on and energizing the pitch.

In the nil-nil tie, senior Bryce Chan led the backline to hold the Lancers to only four shots in the game while influencing the attack with four shots of her own. Goalkeeper Ava Lentz was tenacious in the goal, notching her second clean sheet of the year. Junior Julia Olosky tallied four shots, clattering one off of the goalpost late in the game.

The Tartans will face another Trinity League program when St. Margaret's kicks off against Santa Margarita, Friday, March 19 at 6 p.m. on Tartan Field.
