Tartan Dancers Selected to Perform at Virtual California Dances Festival
The students performances were originally created for the St. Margaret’s 2020 Winter Dance Concert, and selected for the California Dances Festival by an adjudication panel of professional performers and educators.
Six St. Margaret’s Upper School dance students have been invited to perform at the annual California Dances Festival, a virtual event in 2021 supported by the National Dance Education Organization.
The students performances were originally created for the St. Margaret’s 2020 Winter Dance Concert, and selected for the California Dances Festival by an adjudication panel of professional performers and educators. The Tartan dancers will continue to fine-tune their performances before re-filming their dance at the end of March. The California Dances Festival will be held virtually on Saturday, April 17.
The two St. Margaret’s performances selected were:
“Greenlight” featuring sophomores Elle O’Donnell, Ashley Shanahan, Sophia Moran and Maddie Sapra.
“Train Wreck” featuring junior Caroline Kinsey and freshman Ella Mack.
CA Dances is an annual dance festival for professional and student dance groups in California hosted by the California Dance Education Association. CA Dances brings together a statewide community of choreographers, performers, educators, and students in a cooperative community to perform and share artistic work.
