Artists and writers in St. Margaret’s Upper School and Middle School were honored in the 2021 Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, winning 93 art awards and 43 writing awards in the West Coast Regional At-Large Divisions. Tartans won 24 Gold Keys overall, which will be forwarded for judging in the national competition.
Since 1923, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards has recognized art and writing works in 29 different categories for students grades 7-12. Judges look for work that best exemplify originality, technical skill and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. Gold Keys are considered “the very best works submitted to local programs.”
