St. Margaret’s Dancers’ Innovation Shines in Virtual Winter Dance Concert 2020

In all, the concert featured more than 15 dance works performed by 65 students in grades 6-12.
St. Margaret’s talented Upper School and Middle School dancers held their annual Winter Dance Concert virtually this year, dazzling online viewers with “A Virtual Experience in Movement.”

The performances were filmed outside around the St. Margaret’s campus for in-person students, and concurrent students created their own works at home through video editing. “Our students and professional community took innovative steps to put together creative dance works in new environments in a short amount of time,” St. Margaret’s Director of Dance Kirsten Harvey said. “It was quite an undertaking and I’m proud of everyone’s hard work.”

Two of the dance works from the concert, Train Wreck and Greenlight, were selected by Ms. Harvey to be submitted for the statewide California Dances Virtual Concert this upcoming April 2021 hosted by the National Dance Education Organization.
