Students Continue Academic Pursuits During Summer at St. Margaret’s
For-credit classes in the Upper School and gear-up programs in the Lower School and Middle School had record turnouts.
St. Margaret’s students continued their academic pursuits throughout the summer months, as for-credit classes in the Upper School and gear-up programs in the Lower School and Middle School had record turnouts.
In all, St. Margaret’s had 1,300 registrations for academic programs this summer, which were conducted remotely. That included 500 Upper School registrations in classes like religion, health, science, geometry and Spanish, 700 Middle School gear-up registrations in subjects like math, science, social studies and English, and 300 Lower School gear-up registrations.
The surge was handled through an increase in St. Margaret’s professional community members working over the summer to teach courses and connect with students.
“We are grateful to all the professional community that helped with our summer programs this year,” said Andrew Hammond, director of extensions programs. “During this unusual time, in a remote format, the professionalism really shined and we are appreciative of all the hard work.”
