St. Margaret’s Episcopal School is proud to present the Class of 2020 on the eve of their official graduation date this Saturday, June 6. All 120 seniors have made their final decisions on where they will attend school next year, from the more than 723 acceptance offers they have received over the past six months from colleges and universities across the United States and around the world.

These graduating seniors will matriculate to 65 colleges and universities in 21 states and Washington D.C., as well as one university in France. Forty-eight seniors will attend a college or university in California, while 60 percent of the class is venturing to out-of-state institutions, including to Massachusetts (15), New York (7), Texas (7), Pennsylvania (5), Colorado (5) and Illinois (5).

Members of the Class of 2020 received acceptance into every Ivy League school, and nine seniors will matriculate to five of those schools: Brown University (2), Cornell University (3), Harvard College, Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania (2).

Additional college choices by the Class of 2020 include Bates College, Fordham University, Georgetown University, Johns Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Rice University, Stanford University, Swarthmore College, University of California-Irvine, University of Chicago, University of Colorado Boulder, University of Michigan, University of Notre Dame, University of Virginia, University of Oregon, Vanderbilt University and Wellesley College.

Twenty-eight colleges and universities will receive multiple Tartans from the Class of 2020, including the University of Southern California (8), University of California, Los Angeles (6), University of California, Berkeley (5), Boston College (4), Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo (4), Southern Methodist University (4) and Washington University in St. Louis (4).

“I am always proud of our graduates, but especially so this year because so many have well-formed voices and talents that will enrich their chosen college and university communities when they arrive on campus,” St. Margaret’s Director of College Counseling Roland Allen said. “I know we will hear stories of the impact of their lives long into the future.”

“We are so happy for these special Tartans, and their new school communities will be very lucky to have them,” Upper School Principal Jeneen Graham said. “They will take their Tartan light and shine at their new spots around the globe.”

Congratulations to the Class of 2020!
