Upper School Film Classes Have Remote Q&As With Hollywood Professionals

The students asked questions about the audition process, the relationship between directors and actors, handling criticism and more. 
St. Margaret’s film production classes had two special guests recently when film director Niki Caro and actress/comedian Sydney Park joined classes via Zoom to share insights and answer student about acting and filmmaking.
 
Ms. Caro directed the upcoming live-action Disney film Mulan, and has also directed Whale Rider and McFarland, USA. Ms. Park is best known for her role as Cyndie in the television show The Walking Dead on AMC, and has also starred in Instant Mom, Spirit Riding Free and The HALO Effect.
 
The students asked questions about the audition process, the relationship between directors and actors, handling criticism and more. In addition to the film classes, the Upper School drama class taught by Dan Pacheco attended the session with Ms. Park.
 
St. Margaret’s film teacher Karen Bennett has connections to both special guests. She worked in the film industry before becoming a teacher and forged a friendship with Ms. Caro, while Ms. Park was a grade 6 student of hers during her time teaching at Millikan Performing Arts Academy in Los Angeles.
