St. Margaret’s recently earned the College Board’s AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award for attaining female student representation in its AP computer science principles course for 2019.
The honor “acknowledges the outstanding work your school is doing to engage more female students in computer science” according to the College Board, citing St. Margaret’s exceeding 50 percent female enrollment last year in the course.

AP computer science principles is one of 27 AP courses offered at St. Margaret’s. It is a yearlong elective that introduces students to the central ideas of computing and computer science, instills ideas and practices of computational thinking, and has students engage in activities that show how computing and computer science can change the world.
