Tartan Basketball Downs Sage Hill, Coach Nordstrom Achieves 300 Career Wins

St. Margaret's defeated Sage Hill 64-37 to secure coach Chris Nordstrom's milestone win.
Boys basketball head coach Chris Nordstrom celebrated career win No. 300 as St. Margaret's defeated Sage Hill 64-37 at home Friday evening. The Tartans maintained a healthy lead all game and were led by Will Kenner (19 pts), Charlie Wohlgemuth (15 pts) and Anthony Constantino (10 pts).

Nordstrom, a decorated coach in the Trinity League with Orange Lutheran, recently made the transition to St. Margaret's and has continued his winning ways with 14 victories so far. At Orange Lutheran, Nordstrom held an overall career record of 286-163 with a CIF postseason record of 25-11 and a CIF State record of 5-5. Nordstrom led the Lancers to CIF championships in 2011 and 2012 and was named CIF Southern Section Coach of the Year in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

"To achieve this milestone at such a young age is a true testament to Coach Nordstrom's ability to positively influence students," said St. Margaret's Director of Athletics Patrick Bendzick. "Even more impressive is that the majority of his wins came in the ultra-competitive Trinity League and while competing in the Open Division of the playoffs. We are very fortunate to have him at St. Margaret's and look forward to helping him amass his next 300 wins."

"It's an awesome feeling to get to this point, 300 wins," said coach Nordstrom. "A lot of it is tenure, it has taken a bit of time, but it is really a reflection of the great players, coaches and family that have helped me get here."
