Tartans Bring Home Los Amigos Basketball Tournament Crown

The Tartans defeated Estancia 54-46 in the final on Dec. 7.
St. Margaret's boys basketball team were crowned champions at the Los Amigos Tournament this past weekend, downing Estancia High School 54-46 in the final. The Tartans were undefeated in the tournament, including a thrilling 74-70 win over California High, improving to 6-0 on the season.

St. Margaret's was led by Charlie Wohlgemuth, who averaged 11 points, six rebounds and three assists per game through the tournament, earning him tournament MVP honors. Anthony Constantino (averaging 7 ppg and 4 rpg) and Will Kenner (11 ppg and 4 rpg) were named to the All-Tournament team.

"This tournament showed the team how to win," said head coach Chris Nordstrom. "Playing a multitude of opponents with very different playing styles in a short amount of time taught us how to adapt and win against good teams."

The Tartans will return to action on Dec. 11, facing a talented Valley Christian squad in the opening round of the St. Margaret's Tournament. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. in Pasternack Field House.
