St. Margaret’s Students Decorate Community Holiday Tree for Mission San Juan Capistrano 2019 Capistrano Lights Celebration

St. Margaret’s community tree is festively adorned with St. Margaret’s inspired ornaments handmade by Lower School students.
St. Margaret’s is a proud participant in Mission San Juan Capistrano’s 2019 Capistrano Lights month-long celebration by presenting a school-decorated community tree as a part of the festivities along with other community members. St. Margaret’s community tree is festively adorned with St. Margaret’s inspired ornaments handmade by Lower School students. The charming artwork was created across the Lower School, including:
  • Kindergarten and grade 1 students with Erin Moore in the Outdoor Classroom
  • Exploration Zone students with Mary Mayer
  • Grade 5 Core Council students
  • Ms. Stefani Baker created the beautiful wood Scottie dogs in the ICE Lab that the Arts Committee grade 5 leadership group decorated.
  • PAWsitive Character committee added the hooks and the bows and sourced the Tartan plaid tree skirt and topper that perfectly match the charm of the student pieces.

Lower School Director of Community Life Tupper Spring, who organized the Lower School effort said, “Many Lower School hands are part of the St. Margaret’s community tree and we are thrilled with how amazing it all turned out, by how well it represents our school and honored to share it with our San Juan neighbors and friends.”

Head of School Will Moseley and St. Margaret’s professional community members Jennifer Perez and Sarah Kustera decorated the tree at Mission San Juan Capistrano Tuesday evening on behalf of the school.

Capistrano Lights 2019 is a unique holiday celebration open to the public and perfect for families to experience the Mission at night decorated beautifully for the holidays. It is open to the community December 7 through January 6. For more information and tickets, click here.
