Freshman Kate Lee Qualifies for CIF-SS Girls Golf Postseason as Tartans Finish Second in League Play

The Tartans battled high temps and winds en route to a second-place finish.
St. Margaret's girls golf program (4-1-1) gritted through high 90s temperatures and 40 miles per hour winds along with the challenging greens of Los Serranos Country Club at Thursday's league finals. Through 36 holes of golf over two days, Tartan golfers Amy Meng and Kate Lee sat in seventh and eighth place, which put them in contention for the seven allocated post-season spots in CIF Southern Section.

The extremely difficult conditions limited Meng to shooting a respectable 92, missing the post-season cut by three strokes. Meng's play, however, did qualify her as a 2nd Team All-League honoree.

Kate Lee had a better result on the tough course, birdieing four holes on the way to shooting a postseason-qualifying 83 and fifth place overall finish. Lee notched 1st Team All-League honors and a slot at the CIF-SS Individuals on Tuesday, October 29.
