Lower School Cheer Clinic a Resounding Success

The annual event remains a highlight for cheerleaders and participants alike.
The annual Lower School Cheer Clinic brought together 46 participants and the Upper School cheerleading squads for a day of mentoring, stunts, dance and co-curricular opportunity on September 27.

The younger students are mentored by the cheerleaders beginning with greeting Lower School students arriving for the day and drumming up excitement for that evening's football game. Later in the day, the participants learn cheers, stunts and a dance routine before enjoying a team pizza dinner as a group. The exciting day culminated with the cheer clinic participating on the sidelines, cheering the football team to a 20-14 victory and performing a halftime dance in front of a packed house on tartan Field.

"The Lower School students arrived with so much excitement and were met with that same excitement by the Upper School cheerleaders," said Tartan cheer coach Kylie Middlebrook. "This day is always a highlight of the year. We kicked it off opening car doors getting the kids excited for the game, and closed it with an epic halftime performance with 46 cheer clinic attendees."
