PHOTOS: Lower School Celebrates International Dot Day With Creative Activities

International Dot Day is a global celebration which encourages students to embrace their creativity and use it to inspire others.

St. Margaret’s Lower School celebrated International Dot Day with a variety of creative activities during the school day last week.

International Dot Day, inspired by the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, is a global celebration which encourages students to embrace their creativity and use it to inspire others.

In the Lower School ICE LAB, St. Margaret’s students in kindergarten through grade 4 took part in an augmented-reality activity using the Quiver app. The app allowed students to manipulate 2D shapes and turn them into 3D pieces that could be used in interactive ways. Afterward, students explored their classmates’ creations.

Elsewhere, the arts committee led an activitiy for students to make dot caterpillars, as well as making dot-inspired crafts and dot art with blotters.
