St. Margaret's Appoints Mollie Stevens Head Girls Lacrosse Coach

Mollie Stevens will assume the role of head girls coach with Brian Kelly moving to head the boys program.
St. Margaret's Episcopal School is pleased to announce the hiring of Mollie Stevens as head coach of the Tartan girls lacrosse program. With the hire, Brian Kelly, formally appointed as girls coach, will take over as head coach of the boys program for the departing Glen Miles.

Stevens, formerly the offensive coordinator at Fresno State University, was a standout as a player at the University of Florida from 2014-2017. At Florida, Stevens served as team captain, was a Tewaaraton Award nominee in 2016 and 2017, and was named 2017 Big East Tournament MVP, 2017 Big East Attacker of the Year and 2017 first-team All-America. Stevens helped guide the Gators to a 2014 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight appearance, Sweet-16 appearances in 2015, 2016 and 2017, the 2015, 2016 and 2017 Big East Championships and the 2014 ALC Championship.

Stevens also competed professionally for the Upstate Pride of the Women's Professional Lacrosse League in 2017-2018 and as a member of Team USA in 2015-2016.

Currently, Stevens serves as the Orange County Director of Mad Dog Lacrosse.

"I am both honored and excited to be named the head coach for the varsity girls lacrosse team at St. Margaret's Episcopal School," said coach Stevens. "I look forward to bringing my experience from the University of Florida, Team USA, and the Professional Womens Lacrosse League to the team to help these young student-athletes achieve excellence in the classroom and on the field. I'm very excited to join the St. Margaret's family and am dedicated to keeping the winning tradition alive!"

"While it is a bit unconventional to name two head coaches at the same time, the opportunity to bring two exceptional coaches to St. Margaret's was too good to pass up. We have landed two incredibly high caliber coaches, but more importantly, they are two incredible people," said Director of Athletics Patrick Bendzick. "We are very excited to see Coach Stevens and Coach Kelly lead their respective lacrosse programs. Mentorship and character development are central to the mission of the school and the primary goal of the athletic department. Having coaches that can relate to the unique needs of each team is a tremendous resource."
