St. Margaret's Episcopal School is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Nordstrom as head coach of the Tartans boys basketball program.

Nordstrom brings a wealth of coaching experience to St. Margaret's, having served as the head boys basketball coach at Orange Lutheran High School since 2004. Nordstrom holds an overall career record of 286-163 with a CIF postseason record of 25-11 and a CIF State record of 5-5. Nordstrom led the Lancers to CIF championships in 2011 and 2012 and was named CIF Southern Section Coach of the Year in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Nordstrom also mentored 15 players on to collegiate basketball careers with two progressing to the professional level.

At Orange Lutheran, Nordstrom also served as the athletics advancement coordinator and as a member of the social sciences faculty.

Coach Nordstrom is a current SCIBCA board member and has served as a head coach of the Ball is Life All-American Game, OC Premier All-Star Game and Optimists of Orange County All-Star Game. Nordstrom will replace Brian Carmer, who is stepping down to accept an expanded role in St. Margaret's history department.

"Coach Nordstrom has been a fixture in Trinity League basketball for over two decades and there is no doubt that his experience will be an incredible asset at St. Margaret's," said Director of Athletics Patrick Bendzick. "His track record of success is the byproduct of high expectations, incredible depth of knowledge and unwavering care for his players. We are very fortunate for this opportunity and excited to see him get started."

"I truly am excited to join the St. Margaret's community," said coach Nordstrom. "I look forward to being part of a school with a clear vision of developing young people for their future, and I hope to help build on that mission both on and off the court."
