St. Margaret’s Opens 40th Anniversary Year with “40 Forward” -- Watch History Film!

The anniversary theme “40 Forward” connotes St. Margaret’s as an institution that has always set its sights high, continually growing and advancing to provide the optimum educational experience for students.
At the All-School Opening Ceremony on Wednesday, Head of School Will Moseley recognized that this school year marks the 40th anniversary of St. Margaret’s Episcopal School, founded by the Reverend Canon Ernest D. Sillers and opened in the fall of 1979.

Mr. Moseley unveiled the anniversary theme “40 Forward” connoting St. Margaret’s as an institution that from 1979 has always set its sights high, continually growing and advancing to provide the optimum educational experience for students today and tomorrow. He also hinted of exciting events planned to celebrate St. Margaret’s 40-year history.

“We remember the Reverend Canon Ernest D. Sillers, who made his dream for building an Episcopal school a reality, when on October 1, 1979 he welcomed 79 students and a handful of teachers for the first school year. I remain inspired and guided by his vision, as we hope for what is yet to be for St. Margaret’s Episcopal School.”

St. Margaret’s kicks off the 40th anniversary honoring the longstanding Tartan spirit of always striving, always innovating, always moving forward with a dedicated history page on its website, featuring a 40th anniversary history film showing the incredible growth and advancements Tartans have made in 40 years.  The page will also feature 40th anniversary stories, events and fun memories that highlight the Tartan spirit. All Tartans are invited to share their special Tartan photos, video clips, written memories and tributes.
