PHOTOS: Class of 2026 Celebrates Move to Middle School With Clap Out and Red Sweater Toss

As their time in the Lower School comes to an end, St. Margaret’s grade 5 students took a symbolic walk to the Middle School in the traditional end-of-year “clap out” following a celebration Chapel on Monday.

With the rest of the Lower School students along with grade 5 parents forming a pathway, the grade 5 students walked toward the Middle School to rousing cheers, where they were greeted by Middle School Principal Jeannine Clarke and Assistant Principal Mike Allison.

The grade 5 students then went to the steps of the Performing Arts Center, where they received a congratulations from Lower School Principal Jennifer Blount before ceremoniously throwing their red sweaters in the air after wearing them for the final time.

“We are all so very proud of what you have done,” Mrs. Blount told them, “and look forward to hearing about the adventures that await.”

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! Best wishes as you move to Middle School!
