The History Bee and Bowl program at St. Margaret’s is part of the Upper School history club.
St. Margaret’s freshman Nate Kang traveled to Washington D.C. to represent St. Margaret’s in the National History Bee and Bowl. Nate placed in the top 10 in three different events.
Nate qualified for the national championship by winning the San Diego regional as both an individual bee player and as a St. Margaret’s bowl team (though he competed alone) in the junior varsity division, reserved for freshman and sophomore contestants.
In Washington, Nate took part in four different events:
-He placed 8th out of 200 competitors in the individual history bee competition.
-He placed 19th out of nearly 100 teams in the team history bowl competition (competing as a one-person team)
-He placed 7th out of more than 150 competitors in the individual U.S. history bee competition.
-He placed 5th out of more 50 competitors in the individual sports/entertainment bee competition.
The History Bee and Bowl program at St. Margaret’s is part of the Upper School history club, which Nate helped create this school year. The club is sponsored by Upper School teacher Simon Fellowes.
