Dr. Eric Trumbauer Honored by the SAMPE Foundation

The award is given to “teachers who inspire students in the math, science and engineering fields.”
St. Margaret’s Upper School science teacher Eric Trumbauer was awarded the William Dahlgren Teacher of Excellence Award by the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering Foundation. The award is given to “teachers who inspire students in the math, science and engineering fields.”

Dr. Trumbauer teaches AP physics and introduction to engineering in the Upper School. He was nominated by Upper School Principal Jeneen Graham, who wrote that Dr. Trumbauer’s impact at St. Margaret’s has led to a greater student demand for engineering courses.

“He is incredibly enthusiastic and knowledgeable and motivates each and every student to believe they are capable of being successful in his class,” Dr. Graham wrote.

Dr. Trumbauer was presented the award during a science department meeting by Joseph Ingalls, program administrator for the SAMPE Foundation and a former St. Margaret’s science teacher.

SAMPE is a global professional member society that provides information on new materials and processing technology, providing a unique and valuable forum for scientists, engineers and academicians.
