St. Margaret's Student-Athletes Commit to Colleges Across the Country During Spring National Signing Period

Three student-athletes from the class of 2019 committed to continue their academic careers and play intercollegiate athletics during the spring signing period, joining fellow seniors who committed during the fall and winter signing periods.
St. Margaret's Episcopal School is pleased to announce that three student-athletes from the Class of 2019 committed to play intercollegiate athletics next year during the spring national signing period. Seniors Ashlee Caruana, Will Reinkensmeyer and Lillian Thomas will continue their academic pursuits, as well as play their respective sport, at an impressive group of colleges and universities.

These student-athletes will join sixteen of their classmates who committed during the fall and winter signing periods.

Ashlee Caruana, Rhodes College

Ashlee Caruana, a varsity lacrosse team captain, has committed to study and play lacrosse at NCAA Division-III Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn.

Ashlee was a member of St. Margaret's 2018 U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section champion lacrosse team and was named an Under Armour All-American in 2017 and 2018.

Ashlee has volunteered her time with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in the Houston area and with the Navajo Mountain communities.

Will Reinkensmeyer, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Will Reinkensmeyer has committed to study and play lacrosse at NCAA Division-III Massachusets Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass.

Will, a member of the 2018 U.S. Lacrosse Orange County Tartan lacrosse team, also has competed in cross country at St. Margaret's

Will has volunteered his time with Special Camp for Special Kids and building houses for those in need in Mexico.

Will plans on majoring in electrical engineering at M.I.T.

Lillian Thomas, Northern Arizona University

Lillian Thomas has committed to study and play volleyball at NCAA Division-I Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Ariz.

Lillian, a four-year member of the Tartan volleyball program, was named All-League Honorable Mention at the libero position. At the club level, Lillian was a member of the Junior Volleyball Association Silver Division Championship team in 2016 and invited to the High-Performance U.S. National Training Camp. Lillian is also earned her black belt in Shaolin Kempo Karate.

Lillian had volunteered her time with Special Camp for Special Kids, Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in the Houston area, Brookdale Senior Living and teaching martial arts to children.

“It is an honor to recognize three outstanding seniors that have sacrificed so much to achieve this lofty goal," said Director of Athletics Patrick Bendzick. "Their positive influence has helped create a culture of excellence at St. Margaret’s and it’s remarkable to see 19 athletes in a class of just over 120 compete at the collegiate level. We are extremely grateful for their tremendous contributions.”
