Girls Soccer Advances to SoCal Regional Soccer Championship

The Tartans defeated Ramona High on Tartan Field on Thursday.
After two scoreless halves, an overtime period and penalty kicks, the Tartans have advanced to the SoCal Girls Soccer Regional Championship. St. Margaret's and Ramona High School battled it out on Tartan Field on Thursday evening, remaining scoreless through 95 minutes of play. The Tartans and Bulldogs matched the first five penalty kicks before senior Layla Shakerin drove one home for the Tartans followed by a huge save by junior Kennedy Barlow to seal the victory.

The Tartans will again travel to La Salle High School in Pasadena for the championship game in a rematch of last weekend’s CIF Division IV title game which saw the Lancers victorious over St. Margaret's. Game time is slated for 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 2 at La Salle's Kohorst Field. Tickets will be available at the gate with prices set at $12 for general admission and $8 for children/students/seniors.

Go Tartans!
