The Spring Community Music Showcase features current St. Margaret’s students in concert together with the nonprofit Community Youth Orchestra of Southern California under the baton of Music Director Gene Wie. Senior Kevin Zhu presents Franz Liszt’s Piano Concerto, and junior Grace Zhou presents Frederic Chopin’s Piano Concerto, both classical masterworks for the keyboard. They will both perform on our school’s beautiful Steinway Model D concert grand, dedicated to the St. Margaret’s Performing Arts Center by The Ko Family. Joining them on this program will be a collaborative feature between the St. Margaret’s Suzuki String Academy and the Irvine Academy Ensemble, both led by Jenny Visick, with young students ages 5-10 playing in a large violin ensemble.
