Tartans Pick Up Three Wins Over League Rival

Girls Soccer

The Tartans had a slow start against the Lightning on Tuesday night, with a scoreless first half. Ella Kang broke it open in the second half for St. Margaret's, scoring a scorcher on the assist from Allie Binder. Juliet Ballard found herself open in the 61st minute, receiving a through ball from Sam Hasani and scoring to put the Tartans up 2-0. Jasper Adams rounded up the scoring for St. Margaret's with Kang contributing the assist. Goalkeeper Kennedy Barlow notched her 12th shutout on the year.

The 3-0 victory has placed the Tartans atop the San Joaquin League table at 3-0 and 12-1-2 overall. St. Margaret's will take on Pacifica Christian at home on Friday, January 18 at 6 p.m.

Boys Soccer

St. Margaret's traveled to Newport Coast to take on league rival Sage Hill in poor weather conditions Tuesday evening, coming away with a decisive 3-0 victory. The Tartans were led by Tomas Anderson-Comas's two goals. Kevin Groeninger also scored on an assist by Sean Sullivan.

The Tartans (11-2 overall, 4-0 league) will travel to take on The Webb School on Friday, January 18 at 3:15 p.m.

Boys Basketball

St. Margaret's hosted league opponent Sage Hill in a raucous Pasternack Field House on Tuesday night and posted a solid 53-51 win over the Lightning. The Tartans took a 39-30 lead into the fourth quarter and were led by Jack Wohlgemuth and Will Kenner's combined 28 points. Trey Pate was a force on the boards, contributing 13 rebounds. Will Kenner also added three assists and three steals in the win.

The Tartans remain undefeated in league and will face Calvary Chapel Downey at home on Friday, January 18 at 6 p.m.
