Senior attackman Andy Shin had five goals and an assist in the Tartans’ win at home over Mt. St. Joseph of Maryland, earning him a Player of the Week nod by Warrior Lacrosse and U.S. Lacrosse Magazine. The Warrior/U.S. Lacrosse Players of the Week are named each Tuesday to recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school boys' lacrosse in five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West.
The win over the Gaels capped a productive week for Shin (10 goals and 2 assists) and the Tartans with wins over Northern California power De La Salle (12-6) and Bishop O'Dea (19-8) of Washington State.
Saturday's game against Mt. St. Joseph continued a string of seven west-coast swings for the Gaels dating back to 2006 and resulting in a slight 4-3 advantage in favor of St. Margaret's. The game's tradition was started by St. Margaret's assistant coach and MSJ Alumnus, Mark Warren. In 2008, St. Margaret's became the first California team to defeat a team from the vaunted Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association with a 8-7 victory over the Gaels. Click here
