Tartan Soccer Programs Primed for Success in CIF Playoffs

The Tartan boys and girls soccer teams enter the CIF-SS postseason with high expectations.
Girls Soccer

St. Margaret's defeated Kennedy High School 1-0 on Tartan Field Thursday afternoon in the first round of the CIF-SS Div. 4 girls soccer playoffs. Senior Lauren McCaffrey had the lone tally in a hard-fought battle to capture the win for the Tartans.

St. Margaret's (18-5-0) advances to the second round against Walnut High School (12-7-4), who defeated Valley View High School, 3-1, in first round action. St. Margaret's will host the Mustangs on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 5 p.m. on Tartan Field.

Boys Soccer

The 13-7-3 Tartans will take on 10-10-1 St. Anthony High School Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Clark Field in Long Beach. The Tartans are looking to win their first CIF-SS Championship since 2003*.

*St. Margaret's was a CIF-SS Runner Up in 2014 and won a CIF State Championship that same year.
