Boys Soccer and Girls Basketball Enjoy Home Opener Wins

The Tartans got off on the right foot to start the 2017-2018 season.
Boys soccer and girls basketball both opened their schedules with wins to kick off the winter 2017-2018 season.

The Tartan boys soccer program opened the Aliso Cup with a home win against Sunset League opponent Newport Harbor, defeating the Sailors 2-0 on Monday. Chris Vartanian and R.J. Egdorf had the goals for the Tartans. The boys will continue Aliso Cup play against Valley High School on the road on Friday, December 1 at 5 p.m.

St. Margaret's girl's basketball faced off against Southlands Christian School on Wednesday, November 29 in Pasternack Field House. The 40-25 Tartan victory was fueled by Ellie Jones's 17 points, while Alex Fintland contributed eight points and seven assists. Maddie Barkate had eight points with Niki Miles pulling in double-digit rebounds and playing tenaciously on defense. The Tartans will tip off against Anaheim High School at home on Friday, December 1 at 6 p.m.
