Tartan Ground Game Dominates in Win Over Nordhoff High

The Tartans were relentless on the ground, amassing 347 yards against an overwhelmed Nordhoff Ranger defense. Running back Marcus Knight tallied 205 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. Alex Lanham contributed 133 rushing yards and two touchdowns including one at the end of an 81 yd run. Quarterback James Mott added a one-yard run for a touchdown. Mott connected with receivers Ryan Cragun (65 yds 2 TD), Roger Penske (26 yds 1 TD) and Caden Smith (10 yds 1 TD), shredding the Ranger's secondary.
Defensively, the Tartans kept Nordhoff to 257 total yards and stymied the Ranger's efforts to score all night. Defensive back Brandon Wu recorded an interception while linemen Max Martinez and Jack Young each had a sack on the night.
The Tartans will prepare during the upcoming bye-week to face Academy League foe Crean Lutheran on the road on October 27.
