Middle School Winter Sports Season Finishes Strong

The Middle School basketball, golf and lacrosse programs all had exciting winter seasons.
In a span of seven weeks, St. Margaret’s 14 Middle School teams and more than 200 athletes played in more than 130 games and matches--a hectic season to say the least! Busy and successful in more than ways than one; six league championships won by the basketball and lacrosse teams along with improvement seen by each team on the court, field and golf course.

On the basketball court, both the Mountain "A" and "B" girls teams earned league championships, as did the Valley "A" Boys team. The Mountain "A" Boys team played a packed schedule, not only playing their 10 regular season games but also participating in the Mater Dei tournament for two weekends and then with a trimmed-down squad placed third in the always competitive Parochial Athletic League playoffs.

On the lacrosse field, the Tartans made their mark as both boys’ teams went undefeated to win league titles. The Girls' "A" team had several thrilling victories against St. Mary's to clinch first place while the younger girls team participated and competed well in that same older league division to give them great game experience for the future.

On the links, it was a challenging season with the wet weather, but each team rallied to get in two full course matches and time at the range along with their fundamental skills work out on the turf.
