St. Margaret’s Upper School Principal Jeneen Graham and Director of Equity and Inclusion Victor Cota recently shared their experiences leading St. Margaret’s meaningful use of data in approaching DEI work at the 2nd annual INDEX DEI Conference.

INDEX is a member-driven organization dedicated to providing data, analysis and research to independent schools. The INDEX DEI Conference brought together leaders of more than 50 schools from across the country, with Dr. Graham and Mr. Cota’s presentation, “DEI With a Data Lens//Data With a DEI Lens,” kicking off the two-day event in San Diego.

Dr. Graham and Mr. Cota shared their expertise in using data to fully understand the experiences of St. Margaret’s community members, while also stressing that data work necessitates an equity lens to understand proper representations of certain groups. They provided a framework for DEI and data for attendees.
