St. Margaret's Girls Tennis Program Advances in CIF-SS Playoff Action

The Tartans defeated La Serna 74-65 to move on to round two.
St. Margaret's girls tennis team picked up its first postseason team win since 2016 on Wednesday afternoon, downing a talented La Serna High School squad 74-65. The win advances the Tartans to the second round of the CIF-SS Division III playoffs.

St. Margaret's received great play from San Joaquin League individual champ Seychelle Balog and league runner-up Audrey Harrington. The duo won four matches combined over six sets in the victory. Annabel Theil picked up a set and was a tough competitor for St. Margaret's The Tartan doubles teams of Bella Karahalios / Alysse Pusey and Julia Schulze / Grace Nolet contributed wins crucial to St. Margaret's effort.

"It was great to get our first CIF Playoff win in a few years. The girls are all very excited and are looking forward to Friday's match," said head coach Scott Lipsky. "We will need to be prepared for another close match and will do our best to get another win."

The Tartans will draw Diamond Bar to continue CIF-SS Postseason play on Friday, Nov. 8, at Saddleback College.
