PHOTOS: All-School Spring Eucharist Brings School Community Together

The ceremony included readings, music, a celebration of the Eucharist and the conclusion of the Literacy Day coin drive to help Californians impacted by wildfires.
The St. Margaret’s community came together on Thursday for the annual All-School Spring Eucharist, which included the conclusion of the Literacy Day coin drive to help Californians impacted by devastating wildfires.

Students from all divisions were mixed together, as older and younger buddy advisories who worked together for the Literacy Day service project earlier this month joined together to present their collected coins during the passing of the peace. The coins were then blessed by the St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church chaplains and will be donated to wildfire relief efforts of the L.A. Episcopal Diocese and the Northern California Episcopal Diocese to assist communities devastated by the Camp and Woolsey fires.

In total, more than $6,000 in coins was collected, which will be added to the online fundraiser and other student-driven initiatives.
The ceremony included readings, songs by the student body, a moving performance of “Be Thou My Vision” by the symphony orchestra and choir, and a celebration of the Eucharist.
