Tartan Lacrosse Programs No. 1 in Early-Season Rankings

St. Margaret's opened the 2019 campaign at the top of the rankings this week.
The Tartan lacrosse programs, after a very successful 2018 season, are again listed as the best in the region according to MaxLaxOC.com. Both the boys and girls programs are tabbed as the No. 1 programs in Orange County in early season rankings.

The boys team opened the 2019 season with a 17-3 win over visiting Newport Harbor on Tuesday afternoon. The Tartans were led by Kevin Groeninger (4g, 3a), Cooper Barkate (4g, 2a), John Culley (3g, 2a), Nate Sanchez (4g), Koa Todd (2g, 2a), Stuart Pollard (22/24 FO, 2g) and Zane Handy (8 saves). St. Margaret's will next host Woodlands High School, traveling from Texas, on Saturday, March 9 at 1:30 p.m.

The girls team traveled to take on Westlake High on Tuesday afternoon before a lightning-shortened match resulted in an interrupted contest, subject to rescheduling.
 
The girls will host Park City High (Utah) on Friday, March 8 at 4:30 p.m. on Tartan Field.
