Tartan Soccer Advances in CIF-SS Playoffs

St. Margaret's boys and girls soccer programs move on after first-round victories.
The Tartan girls soccer team faced Silverado High School in the first round of the CIF-SS Playoffs on Wednesday evening, coming away with a 1-0 victory. Senior Andi Carnell found the back of the net for St. Margaret's on an assist from junior Jasper Adams. Junior goalkeeper Kennedy Barlow notched the shutout.

St. Margaret's will travel to face Los Altos High School in the second round on Friday, Feb. 8 at 4 p.m.

St. Margaret's boys team received an outstanding effort from senior Tómas Anderson Comas, who tallied two goals to put the Tartans through to the second round. Robbie Graham and Sean Olvera-Harle contributed assists in the while Chris Vartanian added a goal in the 3-1 win against Murrieta Valley.

The Tartans will host Oak Hills High on Tartan Field on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 3 p.m. in the second round.

Also of note: The Tartan boys basketball team will open their playoff run at Garden Grove High Friday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m.
