Tips for finding the service activity that is right for you

• Plan Ahead - It can take several months to set up a meaningful service opportunity.
   
• Make Time- Don't add service to a packed schedule.  Eliminate something else for a season.
   
• Research Service Opportunities- You need to know to what you are committing.
   
• Try Something New- Try something you have never done before.
   
• Follow your passion- You can share what you love with someone else.
   
• Keep Calling- Volunteer coordinators are VERY busy. They may not call back the first time.
   
• Commit to a regular time- You become a burden if you show up sporadically.
   
• Give it a chance- It takes time to determine if you like something or not.  If after several months you really don't like it...change.
