Tips for finding the service activity that is right for you
Plan Ahead -
It can take
several months
to set up a meaningful service opportunity.
Make Time-
Don't add service to a packed schedule. Eliminate something else for a season.
Research Service Opportunities-
You need to know to what you are committing.
Try Something New-
Try something you have never done before.
Follow your passion-
You can share what you love with someone else.
Keep Calling-
Volunteer coordinators are VERY busy. They may not call back the first time.
Commit to a regular time-
You become a burden if you show up sporadically.
Give it a chance-
It takes time to determine if you like something or not. If after several months you really don't like it...change.
Have fun
