St. Margaret’s Episcopal School
A Publication for SMES Faculty & Staff June
2001 Volume 2, Issue 10
As you prepare to bring closure to all aspects of this year,
please include technology in your list of To Do’s.
Save all files to your folder on the
Staf$:Drive.
Export
bookmarks from Internet Explorer to your folder on the Staf$:Drive.
Remove all CD’s and disks from your computer
before leaving for the summer.
Lock up all disks and CD-ROMs.
Delete all unwanted messages from your
Outlook inbox, sent box, and deleted items box.

When you return next school year you will be required to change your password. Here are some suggestions for creating a new password:
· Your new password must be at least 5 characters long.
· Digits and/or punctuation characters as well as letters are recommended.
· The password should be easy enough to remember so it doesn’t have to be written down.
· Please do not use the names of family members or pets.
· It should be difficult, if not impossible, to guess.
· The password can be typed quickly, so someone cannot follow what you type by looking over your shoulder.
As Technology prepares to make the transition from the end of one year to another, our “To-Do” list includes clearing up server space. Mail that has accumulated in your Outlook “sent” and “deleted” folders will automatically be cleaned out over the summer. If there is anything you want to keep in those folders, please take the time to transfer them to another folder in Outlook before the end of June.
