The Eighth-Grade Style Book is now available online.  Please note that the Style Book is password-protected and intended for use only by St. Margaret's faculty, staff, and students.  When prompted for your password, please use your network username and password.

View the Style Book now.  This document is available as a Portable Document File (PDF) file.  In order to view the Style Book, you need Adobe Acrobat Reader software.  Download the software from the Adobe web site.  If you need help downloading and installing the software, contact the Technology Help Line.

The Style Book will open to the cover page.  The Acrobat Reader tools described below will allow you to navigate the document.

Adobe Acrobat Reader Basics

To scroll up and down a page:

  1. Use the scroll bar on the right side of the window
  2. Use the hand tool .  Click on it, hold your mouse button down and either "pull" or "push the page up and down.

To move from one page to another:

  1. Use the scroll bar on the right side of the window
  2. Use these tools to take you to the first page, back one page, forward one page, and to the last page respectively.
  3. To move to a specific page, type the page number in the blank at the bottom of the page.

To search for specific text:

  1. Click on the find tool , type the text in the blank and click Find.  To continue searching the document for the same text, click on the find again tool .

To change how you view the page:

  1. Use the zoom tool to select an area to magnify.
  2. To return to the previous view (and eliminate magnification), click on the previous view button .
  3. Use these tools to see the page actual size, fit to the window, or fit to the width of the window (usually the largest for standard-size documents).
  4. To view one continuous document, instead of one page at a time, click on the view tool at the bottom of the page and choose continuous.

To print a page:

  1. Go to the page you wish to print and click on the print tool .  IMPORTANT:  If you don't specify a page number or range of pages in the print dialog box, the entire document will print!
