Grade |
| |
|
| |
All incoming sixth grade students will
be required to read the novel described below. This activity not
only keeps your child engaged in an academic pursuit over the
vacation, it also allows us to begin the year focused on a novel and
ready to jump into the new year with discussions and activities.
Additionally, each sixth grader will be given an assessment that
measures basic comprehension of the novel.

Your child will
receive a copy of the novel. While we expect that the book may
travel great
distances over the summer, your child will need to use it in class
for the first several weeks,
so please encourage him/her to take good care of it. I am eagerly
looking forward to working
with your child next year in English. Have a great summer!
